News Crunchyroll Adds Sword of the Stranger, Nichijou, Gosick Anime to Catalog

Crunchyroll added the C³, Sword of the Stranger, Gosick, Shakugan no Shana S, and Nichijou - My Ordinary Life anime to its catalog on Thursday. Crunchyroll had previously streamed both Gosick and Nichijou - My Ordinary Life as they aired in Japan, but removed both series in August 2014.

The 12-episode C³ anime premiered in 2011. Funimation and Niconicostreamed the television episodes in North America as they aired in Japan (after an initial delay). Funimation released the series on Blu-ray Disc and DVD in March 2016. The release included the unaired 13th bonus episode. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.

Masahiro Ando (Under the Dog, Blast of Tempest, Sirius the Jaeger) and studio BONES' Sword of the Strangersamurai anime film originally premiered in September 2007. Bandai Entertainment previously released the film on Blu-ray Disc and DVD in 2009, and Funimation re-released the film on Blu-ray Disc and DVD in November 2016. Crunchyroll is streaming the film in the United States and Canada.

The 24-episode Gosick anime premiered in 2011. Bandai Entertainment had licensed the anime in July 2011, before announcing that it would discontinue new releases in January the following year. Funimation released the series on Blu-ray Disc and DVD in May and September 2017. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Iceland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and the Netherlands.

The four-episode Shakugan no Shana S OVA series debuted in 2009, and Funimation released the OVA on Blu-ray Disc and DVD in 2013. Crunchyroll is streaming the OVA in the United States and Canada.

Kyoto Animation's 26-episode Nichijou - My Ordinary Life anime premiered in 2011. Bandai Entertainmentpreviously licensed the series, but cancelled the release in 2012 when the company stopped offering new home video and manga releases. Funimation released the series on Blu-ray Disc and DVD in February 2017. Crunchyroll is streaming the series in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Iceland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and the Netherlands.
