Synopsis

The life of an adventurer isn’t always a glamorous one. Belgrieve finds this out the hard way when a deadly encounter robs him of his leg and the ability to pursue his dreams not long after setting off for fame and fortune. But fate isn’t finished with this retired adventurer! While gathering herbs in the wilderness, he discovers an abandoned baby girl and names her Angeline after deciding to raise her as his own. Angeline grows up to become a top-tier adventurer in her own right, yet after venturing out into the world and making a name for herself, fame, fortune, and power hold no allure for the accomplished S-rank adventurer: her heartfelt wish is for nothing more than to see her father again.

Am I an idiot or something? Is books have some "protection" lately? I couldn't convert them via Calibre to make their illustrations work on my e-book... They just didn't compress... Tried older version of Calibre - same shit... Did anyone have idea how to convert books to compress their illustrations and make them work on some bizarre resolutions like 758X1024? Illustrations not that important to me, but that kinda annoying after I found solution to this problem before... I tried some online services and it's the same... And I SO don't want to do it manually...

Well... I'm obviously an idiot, but it was confusing as heck. First of all Calibre just up and ignore all illustrations above some resolution range that make conversion useless for me. It's just that it didn't catch up the data from conversion profile I guess. So it's just by changing some option like "compress images larger than" with my e-book resolution (darned 758x1024) and it worked I guess. It compressed it from 20-30+ to pathetic 2-3 mb. I think it just typical case of bug when you change something and it blow up to someone else's face. I have space on my e-book but it's just show me blank screen if I don't compress those illustrations... In ideal world someone who write firmware for this device would give e-book a function to minimize hi-resolution images to the screen size, but e-book is limited device in performance and it would kinda fuck up performance if you would include checks for each image and than resize it on the fly. It also could harm screen or power supply, but it also kinda irked me. So if someone have troubles with illustrations on your device fell free to use Calibre to convert your books. I would go and make a bug report but there is registration and other shit, so I just whine here. Hope my "solution" for someone with blank illustrations will work and mitigate my off-topic BS.
