Supergirl season 3, episode 4 synopsis
This week on Supergirl, Kara discovers a new cult in National City, one that worships all things Supergirl.
Last week on Supergirl, the episode was big on emotional moments. Both Maggie and J’onn were reunited with their fathers with wildly different results. Maggie’s father couldn’t accept her relationship with Alex. J’onn went to Mars with Kara and discovered he is not in fact the last Green Martian. His father is alive and went back to Earth with J’onn and Kara.
After that emotions, and character driven hour, Supergirl is going in a different direction for this week’s episode. Specifically, Kara will stumble upon a new cult in National City, Led by Thomas Coville (guest star Chad Lowe), the group worships all things Supergirl. And it looks like how the show their devotion may be blowing up an arena full of people.
Here is the synopsis for the episode, “The Faithful”,
Kara (Melissa Benoist) investigates a secretive new group whose leader, Thomas Coville (guest star Chad Lowe), has a mysterious connection to Supergirl. Meanwhile, Samantha (Odette Annable) feels like she’s letting Ruby (guest star Emma Tremblay) down, and J’onn (David Harewood) confesses an old secret.
While Kara is investigating the cult to her that includes children dancing around in Supergirl costumes, the other Kryptonian in National City is feeling like she is failing her daughter. And it will somow involve soccer.
From the promotional photos, it looks like Samantha is thriving in her new job at L Corp. But it comes at the cost of Ruby’s soccer games. Of course eventually this season Samantha will transform into the villainous world killer Reign. It could be that what triggers her transformation into Reign is that something happens with Ruby.
Finally, J’onn confesses some secret. Based on the events of last week’s episode, this could be him telling everybody that his father is alive and on Earth.
